Anyone who owns a website knows how difficult it is to gain visitors. You may have the best website in the world, but if you can’t get website visitors, you won’t earn any money. We’ve all heard of the standard “try using Google Adwords” and “post comments on other blogs” to get traffic to your website, but what about some new ideas. Through trial and error I have found the following 5 unique ways to get website traffic to be surprisingly effective!

1. Write your website address any place you can. You would be surprised how many people will type in a website address they’ve seen in some random place. I’m not saying you should vandalize, but we all know of those bathroom stalls with writing all over or the public poster boards with tons of fliers. Put your web address in these places!

2. Make stickers. People love stickers. They will put them on anything from notebooks to their biking helmets. What does this mean for you? Cheap advertising! It’s really inexpensive to have some stickers printed up. Just search Google and you’ll get tons of sticker printing companies.

3. Sponsor a skier, snowboarder, cyclist, skateboarder, inline skater… You get the idea. It’s actually not as expensive as you think. There are hundreds of decent skateboarders and such that are always out on the streets, skate parks, or mountains. Get them to slap a sticker on their helmet, make some t-shirts, or a skateboard with some cool graphics. You don’t even have to pay them! Just give away free stuff. How do you do this? Head over to the local skate park or ski area and approach some people asking if they’d like some free stuff. You wouldn’t believe how quickly your website’s name will get out there.

4. Make a small giveaway. Go to the local Target, Best Buy, etc. and buy a $10 gift card to raffle off on your website. Print up some fliers and leave them in public places, post links to the raffle on FaceBook, and tell your friends. It’s amazing how much publicity a $10 gift card will get you, not to mention all the e-mail addresses you can add to your mailing list!

5. Go to a college campus and give away free stuff. College kids will literally take just about anything that’s free. Why do you think they drive Red Bull cars around campuses and give away free Red Bull? It’s a very effective marketing campaign. Get some pens or pencils made with your website’s name on it. These pens and pencils will be used all the time, left around, and borrowed. What does this mean? Tons of really cheap advertising.

This way people would be less likely to post spam. After a little while of researching, I found a way to disable the paste function in a text box using html. Also, here’s how you disable the copy and cut functions as well:

Just add these to your textarea tag:

Disable the paste function:
onPaste="return false;"

Disable the copy function:
onCopy="return false;"

Disable the cut function:
onCut="return false;"

If you want to disable all three: onPaste=”return false;” onCut=”return false;” onCopy=”return false;”

I can't guarantee that this works in all browsers, however I know it works in most Internet Explorer Browsers and Firefox.

Do you need help implementing code? We offer html implementation services at very fair prices. Please feel free to contact us: survey[at]flurbl.com. If we can't implement the code, we can recommend someone who can!

I’ve tried out YourFreeSurveys for a few weeks now. So, what’s my review of YourFreeSurveys?

YourFreeSurveys is a website that doesn’t directly offer you surveys. Honestly, this was slightly disappointing. On their website they advertise surveys they are “giving” their members. YourFreeSurveys just refers you to other surveys. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, in fact I got referred to some high profiting surveys this way.

Upon signing up with Your Free Surveys you get $4.00. Of course, you have to meet and account minimum of $30.00 to cash out. From my research it looks as though it would take at least 2 months to reach this account minimum at first. This is fairly typical for a paid survey website.

Ultimately, I would recommend YourFreeSurveys, especially to paid survey beginners. It’s a good resource and does connect you with some high paying surveys.

Let us know what you think of Your Free Surveys.

For those of you who don’t know, Google Adwords is a service that allows you to create an ad and choose keywords for when you want your ad to appear. The ultimate goal is to have your ad show up in search results when a customer is ready to by or sign up for a service and it just looking for a link to get them there.

So, how are you supposed to make money with Google Adwords? The point is to choose a product or service to refer people to that, on average, pays out more per click than you have to spend per click. For example, an affiliate network might offer a $1.00 reward for every referral you get to sign up with a paid survey company. Let’s say that on average the link is generating $0.10 per click. That means that if you set your maximum bid per click to $0.05 you’ll be making an average of $0.05 per click! That’s amazing. However, it’s not that easy or everyone would be doing it.

The main trick to advertising with Google Adwords and turning a profit is to choose keywords that hint that a person already knows that they want something and they are just looking for a link to get there.

For example, say you’re advertising an energy drink called Blue Bull. You shouldn’t just bid on the keyword “Blue Bull.” This will get you traffic that consists of people just wondering what it is, what it looks like, and more nonsense. However, bidding on the keyword “where can I buy Blue Bull” will most likely generate traffic consisting of people who already know what the product is and are just looking for a place to buy it. Unfortunately these keywords usually have a fairly high minimum bid and will therefore cut your earnings down.

So, what’s the trick to making money with Google Adwords? Here’s a few tricks I’ve learned.

First, you need to sign up with an affiliate network. MaxBounty is a highly recommended affiliate network. They have the highest pay outs and excellent customer service.

Once you’re signed up with an affiliate network, do some research and find out which programs have the highest EPC (earnings per click), and make sure to look for programs that you think are underrated or have great potential.

Research effective keywords using Google’s Keyword Research Tool. Look for keywords with little competition.

If you’re selling a product look for keywords such as “where to buy -the product-.”

Find keywords that have a low minimum bid and little competition as well. This will take some time but it will pay off greatly in the end.

Marketing with Google Adwords is tricky and can either end in a loss of money or a large gain. Try small campaigns at first. Some will fail, but a few will succeed. It will take some time but you will learn what works and you will profit.

Let us know if you have any tricks or tips, and let us know how it’s going with your Google Adwords marketing campaigns.

What is Amazon’s Mturk? It’s a place where people and companies can post mini jobs for people to do. Some of these jobs include things like categorizing an image, rating a website, or checking to make sure business information is correct. Anything that would be hard for a computer to do is posted on this site. These type of mini tasks pay anywhere from $0.01 to $0.15. That’s not a bad deal considering if you complete 10 two cent tasks per minute, you’d make an average of $12.00 per hour.

My experience with Mturk has been fairly positive since I joined to test it out. For 30 minutes of work I earned $6.08. That’s not bad at all! I completed a bunch of tasks that included categorizing a site’s format. It was the easiest $6.00 I had earned in awhile.

I would definitely recommend signing up with Amazon’s Mturk. It’s a great way to earn some extra money or maybe even be a part time job for stay at home parents. Just a word of warning- watch out for tasks promising to pay $20 to complete a free sign-up form. You may end up paying more than you earn in the end!

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Well, you have to start somewhere! The easiest first referral to get is going to be someone you know, especially family. He or she trusts your opinion, and therefore if you tell him something’s worth signing up for or worth buying, there’s a good chance he’ll listen to you. So, the obvious choice is to refer someone you know, right?

Wrong. If you refer someone you know, no matter what the product or service, he will think of you as the go to guy or gal when something goes wrong. If your friend feels he’s been cheated out of money or time, you’ll be the person he complains to. In fact, it can hurt your relationship. If you’re ever going to refer a friend or family member to something, do it in a passive way. Let them make the choice by sending them a link in an email. Just do it in a way that won’t make them feel obligated to do what it is you’re referring them to do.

The best first referral is someone you don’t know. How do you do this? Well, this is the complicated part. The best way to refer someone you don’t know well or at all is to post a link on your social profile. Whether you like it or not, a lot of strangers view your profile. What better way to mooch off the stalkers than to post a referral link? Plus, even the people you know will view this link and will most likely click on it because they’ll be interested in what you’re affiliated with. I mean honestly, don’t we all “FaceBook stalk” once in awhile? Wouldn’t you click on a link if it was in your friend’s profile?

How about other ways to get referrals? You’ll have to wait for the post! I’ll put the link here when the post is up.

Let us know how it goes getting your first referral!

I’ve been an affiliate with ClickBank for the past five years and my experience has been has been good at times, but bad at others. The first thing you’ll notice is that everyone always promises ClickBank to be the way to earn hundreds of dollars online almost instantly. That just isn’t the case.

The trick is to find a site that pays you automatically or whenever you want to be paid. Luckily, I’ve come across some of those sites. Here are a couple:

Youdata- Once you sign up all you have to do is view a few ads and you’ll be paid through PayPal within a few days. I got paid $2.85 my first time! WARNING: You need a PayPal account to be paid from this site.

Associated Content- Have any old school papers? Like to write articles? Submit any writing to Associated Content and you will almost be guaranteed to be offered money. For example, I submitted an article called “Top Ten Things To Do In Connecticut” and was offered $10.18. Plus I receive payments each month for every 1,000 views the article gets. You will be payed by PayPal within a few days of submitting your article.

Those two sites should be good enough to getting you on your way to earning your first $1 online. Once you get paid your first dollar, be sure to come back and learn how to earn some real money!

Let us know how it goes please!

Don’t worry though, with my help it won’t take you a month to earn $1 online.

I’ve been a member of SurveyScout since 2006. I paid the full $34.95 to become a member. People always ask me, is SurveyScout a scam? Is SurveyScout legit? I’ll tell you from a member’s point of view and give you behind the scenes snapshots of the member’s area. Seriously, this is 100% honest; I’m not trying to make a sale and I’m not going to bash SurveyScout and then provide you with a link to another site that you still need to pay to join. I won’t hold back anything!

So, the nearly $35 fee, is it worth it? Yes and no. I found SurveyScout to be great when I was first starting out taking paid surveys online. It provided me with a list of paid survey sites to sign up with. I knew I could find most of those site links elsewhere for free, however it is so convenient to have them all in one place in an organized table.

Here’s what the paid survey database page looks like (I couldn’t take a snapshot of the survey sites… sorry):

As you can see, there are 6 full pages of survey sites. There really are more than you can sign up with. It helped out a lot when I had no idea where to begin.

If you’ve already familiarized yourself with the world of online paid surveys then you may think that SurveyScout is a scam. They are basically selling you a list of paid survey sites and some supporting information that, if you look around enough, you can get for free elsewhere. However, if you take the perspective of a newcomer to paid surveys, the $35 fee saves tens of hours of searching for paid survey sites and information on where to being and what other opportunities are out there.

One benefit of SurveyScout is that, upon signing up, you get a $25 voucher to a restaurant. I redeemed my voucher to a nearby restaurant and it was 100% legitimate. I ate dinner and handed them the voucher and they took it no questions asked. Vouchers were available to thousands of restaurants, so don’t think you won’t be able to find one near you.

Another benefit of SurveyScout is all of the extra offers and opportunities you get for signing up with the site. Along with links to paid survey sites, you get links to paid email sites, paid to drive sites, and other home-based opportunities like writing articles.

Here’s a preview of the bonus area:

Using the links in the bonus section I found out about writing articles online and I have since earned well over $100 from it. They really are useful, yet if you look around the internet long enough, you will find these links for free. The only thing is, with SurveyScout you don’t have to pay to register for these bonus opportunities, whereas if you found them yourself some incur a fee. Even some of the links through SurveyScout require you to pay a small fee.

SurveyScout has been around for a long time and no one has any major complaints. Yeah, once you find out that you could have found the links elsewhere you get a little bummed, but then you remember that SurveyScout really helped you get on your way. Would I take the $35 back? No, probably not. I found it to be a great resource for paid surveys, but that doesn’t mean everyone else will think so. I’ve made a few hundred dollars taking paid surveys and I would have to say that I owe some of success to SurveyScout.

Would I recommend SurveyScout? Well, even though SurveyScout certainly isn’t a scam, I wouldn’t recommend it to everyone. If you’ve already signed up with a few sites then I would hold back and save your money. If you’re brand new to the online paid survey scene and you don’t want to spend the time to look around for links to register and for recommended sites, then I would say go for it. It will save you time and the $35 fee isn’t all that much.

If you’re on a budget, then take a look around this site. We offer a free paid survey database (not as big as SurveyScout’s paid survey database, but pretty close). Click for the free paid survey database.

My overall review of SurveyScout is that it offers a great long list of paid survey sites and gives some bonus opportunities, but it is definitely for the beginners and not for advanced survey takers. They don’t directly offer surveys, just the links. So, if you’re already signed up with paid survey sites, it’s pretty useless.

If you are a beginner survey taker or feel that SurveyScout can help you out, sign-up by clicking on the link below! Good luck.
