Mylot.com …is it Worth it?

Mylot.com has well over 127,000 members typing their hearts out to earn about 1 to 3 cents per post. It is a well-known paid to post site, but is it all worth it?

Let’s say you can write one post per minute, including all the time it takes to research, think, let the page load, and type. This means you’re making about 3 cents per minute, or about $1.80 per hour. That’s way below minimum wage and not to mention not very profitable.

The big question is why are there hundreds of thousands of people on Mylot typing away for such cruddy pay? Many like to simply talk to other people for the heck of it and hey, the extra cash here and there doesn’t hurt. Some people are on Mylot.com trying to gain referrals to other sites or promote their products. Sadly enough, there are also some people who are on Mylot trying to earn money for the sole purpose of earning money online. I give these people a lot of credit and in no way am I trying to put you down.

What ticks me off is that Mylot is making a ton off of these people by saying they pay to post. The owners of the website make a killing off of ads while they sit there and let their members do all the work of writing the site’s content. It’s like paying someone a few cents an hour to do all the dirty work while you sit there and get rich off of them. Is it fair? No way. They should be paying their members at least 10 cents per post.

Ofcourse some could argue that the money part doesn’t matter, that they just do it for fun. There are many sites out there who don’t even pay their members for writing reviews or posts that gain the sites top spots on search engines.

I have talked to people who earn hundreds a month from Mylot by getting referrals for the site. They earn a portion of what their referrals make every month. It’s a great deal but that also costs money. Unless you’re a very popular person or have all the patience in the world, then you have to pay to advertise your referral link. It takes time and money; sometimes more of one than the other.

Overall, Mylot.com isn’t one of those sites that you should spend all of your time at. It’s great to chat with people and earn a few bucks here and there. It’s also a great place to meet people from all around the world. I love its design and the ease of use is wonderful. As for a great way to earn money online… it gets a 4/10.

Promiseprofits is no longer cool.

All right, I’m not gunna lie; I bought traffic from a guy who said he would get 500,000 quality visitors to my site for 20 bucks.  Sounded like an amazing deal.  Come to find out he also had a paid to click site called Promiseprofits.  What more could I ask for?

Since Flurbl is just starting off I can use all the advertising and visitors I can get.  So I asked the guy if he’d like to trade links and banners if I write a short article about his site.  He said sure.  I wrote the article, posted it, and then let him know.

He sounded genuinely pleased and told me the Flurbl ad would be up in no time.  Three days later it was still not up.  Even better was that the “high quality” traffic I was promised was coming from low quality auto surf and paid to click sites.  But wait… it gets better.  I went to visit Promiseprofits.com today and it’s gone.  All the people that clicked their hearts out just lost all their money while the guy made off with ad money that he owed people. UPDATE: Apparently everyone was paid back! Right out of the guy’s pocket too! (We need more webmasters like that, and as for the previous owner, I sincerely apologize for assuming that no one was paid back) As for the website now, it is under new management and you can get a glimpse of the new owner, he left a comment below!

I would like to apologize to all my readers who read my blog and review of promiseprofits.com and then signed up with with the site.  To be blunt, I feel like an idiot.  I promise that from now on I’ll watch out for these things and look over things better before they’re published on Flurbl.

PromiseProfits

I came across a new site today called PromiseProfits. It’s a PTC website that also pays you to refer friends and play games.

Unlike most paid to click websites, PromiseProfits actually pays. They have a low pay-out threshold of $10.00 and offer their pay-outs through PayPal.

I’m currently a member and I was quite surprised to find that there are a good number of websites to surf, and most of them pay $0.01 for a 30 second view. Most PTC websites only have one or two ads running with an incentive of 1/4 of a cent. PromiseProfits is certanily one of the best PTC websites that I have come across so far.

Don’t take my word for it! Try it out yourself. You can either try their demo account on their website; www.promiseprofits.com, or register for a free account by clicking the image below.

Found an Awesome Site; thisisby.us

I just found a great site called thisisby.us where you can make money by writing for them. Basically you just write a short story, whether non-fiction or fiction and you get paid depending on how many views your story gets. People write about everything from being arrested for overdue library books to ways you can save $20 a month on your cable bill. No paid surveys or anything and I honestly have no idea how they pay you (i.e. by PayPal, Check,…), but it’s a pretty cool site.

InboxDollars

I was searching around the web today for some new sites to add to Flurbl’s databases however, I didn’t come across any that had good user ratings. Since I didn’t have any new sites to tell you about, I figured I should at least suggest one that I know to reputable and that I’ve earned money with.

About five years ago I came across InboxDollars. Back in 2003 it was just on its rise, considering it went online in 2000. After about 3 months with them I earned $25, mostly through completing offers. I decided to spend $17 of my earnings to buy a Gold Membership, which hasn’t quite payed for itself yet. I currently have 46 active referrals, most of which I got from being a Gold Member.

InboxDollars pays about 3 cents per email read and you get about 2-3 per day. They also pay you $5 just for signing up. Not only do they offer paid emails but paid offers are also a large part of the site. They pay you a fairly generous amount for completing offers compared to other sites. You can also get paid to take surveys (about $1 per 10-15 minute survey) and you can get paid to play games. Whenever you refer someone to InboxDollars you get money everytime they view an email as well as complete an offer. When one of your referrals cashes out you get paid $5.

The best part about InboxDollars is that they are reliable. Upon completing an offer you will always get credited within a reasonable amount of time, sometimes right away. They are a trustworthy company with over 2 million members. I would strongly recommend InboxDollars to anyone.
